A wonderful photography show is opening this week at Luz Photographic Gallery in Victoria. I just can not wait. Its going to be soooo good.
Together Luz and Diffusion magazine are presenting Diffusion IV, an exhibition of unconventional photography. And the work of one of my all time favourite photographers, Polly Chandler, will be showing. She is a photographer from Texas, who shoots with 4×5 camera using the now discontinued film, Polaroid Type 55. Her black and white images are moody and dramatic and also sometimes a little sombre. She has taken some really stunning photographs of Tom Waits. How cool is that?
The show runs from July 12th to August 31, with a gala on July 14 from 7 to 9pm at 1844 Oak Bay Avenue. Diffusion publisher Blue Mitchell and artist Ken Rosenthal will be in attendance, and will start the evening off with a few words around 6:30pm. See you there.
